Play Without Limits: The Accessible Play Space & Resource Hub
Picture this: A bright, welcoming space filled with laughter, where wheelchairs roll freely alongside running feet. Where a child who struggles with sensory overload finds calm in a cozy sensory pod. Where a parent who’s been searching for resources finally finds guidance and hope.
This is the vision behind Detroit’s first fully Accessible Play Space & Resource Hub — a safe, inclusive environment where children of all abilities can play, learn, and connect, and where families can access the tools they need to thrive.
In too many underserved communities, children with disabilities are left out of the joy and developmental benefits of play. Parents often have to drive long distances for therapy, inclusive recreation, or special needs support — if they can find it at all.
This hub will be a game-changer:
-
Inclusive Indoor Playground – Wheelchair-accessible equipment, sensory-friendly play zones, and safe spaces for all.
-
Sensory Pod Rooms – Calming spaces with light, sound, and texture therapy for children who need them.
-
Therapy & Resource Center – Support for families through workshops, referrals, and hands-on assistance.
-
Healthy Café & Gathering Space – A welcoming place for connection and community.
Why It Matters:

When you contribute to this project, you’re not just funding a playscape — you’re building a legacy of inclusion. Your support will help create a lasting community landmark where every child can play, learn, and grow without limits.
As a thank you, each donor will:
-
Be featured on our “Gratitude Mural” Wall inside the hub for all to see
-
Be spotlighted on our website, flyers, and community bulletin resource board
-
Receive honorary mentions at the ribbon-cutting ceremony
-
Have the opportunity to name a meal or play area (for major sponsors)
Your gift today becomes a visible reminder that you believed in a world where no child is left on the sidelines.
